The Gambonini Family

Located in the rolling hills of Petaluma, California, Gambonini Family Ranch is rooted in over a century of hard work, family tradition, and a deep love for the land. Originally purchased in 1913, the ranch has been in the Gambonini family for five generations. Frank and Stacey Gambonini currently own and operate the ranch, and their three daughters—Francesca, Alexandra (and her husband Dominic), and Samantha—are proud to carry on their family's agricultural legacy.

Frank grew up chasing his father, George, around the ranch in his little rubber boots, dreaming of being a "big-time" farmer. That dream became his reality, and together with Stacey, they ran the dairy with care and dedication until 2019.

Today, the ranch continues to thrive as a working organic operation. Around 250 head of cattle—both organic dairy heifers and beef cattle—still graze the rolling pastures of Sonoma County that the Gamboninis call home. Agriculture remains at the heart of everything they do.

The Barn

In 1924, a devastating fire swept through the ranch, destroying every building except the family home. With overwhelming support from neighboring ranchers, the Gamboninis quickly began to rebuild. Silvio Gambonini sourced lumber from the recently closed Cotati Speedway, transporting it back to Petaluma to construct a new milk barn and breathe new life into the farm.

Fifteen years later in 1939, the barn was expanded to its current size to accommodate hay storage as the operation grew. Over the decades, it has served many roles, housing milk cows and calves, storing hay, and even being the prime spot of many hide-and-go-seek games for generations of kids.

Fast forward to 2021, Stacey envisioned a second life for the historic barn—one that would honor the past while welcoming new celebrations. That vision sparked the transformation of the beloved structure into a thoughtfully renovated event space, blending rustic charm with refined elegance. Every board and beam holds a story, and now the barn is ready to be part of yours.

Gambonini Family Ranch is more than a venue—it’s a living, breathing piece of Sonoma County’s agricultural landscape. Whether you're here for a wedding, a family milestone, or simply to enjoy the views and heritage of this special place, we’re honored to share our story—and our land—with you.
